Reading/Writing.In fifth-grade we level for reading but we will keep our homeroom students for writing. When we level students for reading we are thinking about how we can serve students with similar strengths and similar areas of necessary growth the best!

Book ClubStudents will be apart of a few different book clubs throughout fifth-grade! Students will get to choose a book, plan out how much to read each week with their group, and then meet once a week to discuss the book. Students will be graded on their communication with their group members!

AssignmentsStudents will keep all of their reading assignments in their RED folder.
Students will keep all of their writing assignments in their YELLOW folder. |
Read AloudThe books change every year based on the students! We will for sure read two books as a class this year.

Getting HelpStudents may see an interventionist if we notice they are still approaching grade level! These small groups may focus on reading comprehension, fluency, and decoding multi-syllabic words.
